ADHD - Are Children Over-Medicated

URGENT - PLEASE READ AND ACT ASAP.

From time to time you have been called upon, in a moments notice, to take action and make your voice heard regarding abuses in the field of mental health. A great many of you, each and every time, when an email such as this hits your screen, have taken the few minutes needed to express your opinion whether it be to and editor, journalist or politician. YOUR VOICE (and/or EMAIL) HAS IMPACT.

Thank you for being available and willing to do your part in cleaning up the field of mental health. Collectively, when hundreds (if not thousands) of us make our opinion known, it can and does change the course of events.

Right now, your help is needed again. Please read the following and take 2 minutes to make one VERY important phone call. Here's what is happening:

Thursday, September 26, the House Committee on Government Reform, chaired by U.S. Representative Dan Burton (R-IN), will conduct a hearing entitled “Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorders - Are Children Being Over Medicated?”

THIS IS A MAJOR HEARING  BY ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL COMMITTEES IN CONGRESS. IT WILL EXPOSE ONE OF THE BIGGEST FRAUDS IN PSYCHIATRY. The psychiatric front groups are WORRIED. They are complaining and protesting to Congress and Congressman Dan Burton that these hearings should not take place.

What you need to do is, FIRST THING THURSDAY, call and leave a message for Congressman Dan Burton and:

THANK HIM FOR HOLDING THESE HEARINGS. TELL HIM THAT YOU APPRECIATE THAT HE AND HIS COMMITTEE ARE TAKING THE TIME TO INVESTIGATE THE RAMPANT DRUGGING OF OUR CHILDREN BY PSYCHIATRY. LET HIM KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN FULL SUPPORT OF THESE HEARINGS AND ARE GRATEFUL THAT THEY WILL BE HEARING FROM EXPERTS WHO ARE KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE FRAUD OF ADD/ADHD AND HOW IT HAS BEEN PUSHED AND MARKETED BY THE VARIOUS PSYCHIATRIC GROUPS.

This is VERY easy and simple to do. You call the number below and ask to speak to Congressman Burton. The receptionist will tell you he is not available and will ask if you would like to leave a message. Then all you do is leave him a message, along the lines to the one above but in your own words.  You can also fax a letter to the number below if you prefer. if the number is busy, please keep trying until you can get through.

Either way, please act right now as the hearing starts today (26th).

Please pass this onto to others to have them do the same.

Mr. Burton can be contacted at:

Congressman Dan Burton
Indiana-6th, Republican
phone: 202-225-2276
fax: 225-0016

Thanks!!!!

MK

Note:  NAMI has issued a press release, a letter to Dan Burton, and an E-News advocacy alert blasting this hearing for suggesting it might be possible to help children without medicating them.    NAMI E-News on this hearing
