Services
http://www.mentalhealth.samhsa.gov/consumersurvivor/ Alternatives 2004
The Alternatives Conferences, sponsored by CMHS, began in 1985 as an
educational and networking forum for national, state and local leaders and
advocates in the consumer/survivor movement. Past themes of Alternatives
conferences have focused on the latest issues involving policy, research,
treatment and recovery, education, advocacy, and organizing. These meetings
have helped to bring together consumer/survivor leaders from around the
country, build relationships and alliances, and strengthen the
consumer/survivor movement and overall consumer voice in the mental health
care system. The Center for Mental Health Services is a component of the
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, United States
Department of Health and Human Services.
