_______________________________________________ Association Health Plan Bill in Senate Would Weaken Parity In June, 2003, the U.S. House of Representatives passed Small Business
Health Plan (AHP) legislation. On May 12, 2004, the Senate is scheduled to
vote on a similar bill - S. 545 – the Small Business Health Fairness Act
of 2003. Advocates are urged to contact your U.S. Senators to request their
opposition to this bill. If S. 545 passes, state mental illness parity laws
will be significantly weakened.
