Day before yesterday, Jeff enrolled in his second college course. He made an A in the class he took last semester.

Jeff had a scheduled appointment with a new psychiatrist. He was nervous about that because he never knows if the new doctor will change the medication.

Jeff has spent time with his dad, in person and on the phone the past 2 days. It always leaves him in an upset state of mind and I have to help him get through it.

Jeff left yesterday about 4:50. He called about 4 a.m. from the 405 area code and said he was going west. He cannot stand the drugs. The psychiatrist made another appointment for Tuesday, August 12th. If he doesn't show up, he will be in violation of the court order.

He, nor I, believe he should be on the drugs. They are court-ordered. In the past, he has gone into detox because they do create a dependence and the detox appears to be "decompensation." So he is rehospitalized and the drugs are started again. Though these last two drugs do not painfully torment him as those in the past have, they do cause a severe sedation and everything he does is a great effort. He sleeps a lot. He drinks a lot of caffeine to counteract the sedation.

He said many times that he would rather be dead on the street than be forced to take psychiatric drugs. I suppose this is one more stand against his being force-drugged. It is a stand for control over his own life and for freedom.

Though this is hard, I believe God is still in control and is working things out for his good and my good. Please pray that good and the right is worked out. Pray for a hedge of protection around him. Pray for our peace.

Blessings,
Marilyn
