Rodney Update - June 2003 

Dear Friends,

This last week has been a trying one for Rodney and his legal team. Rodney is now back in Chester, a guest at the Randolph County Jail.

He has access to a phone that only allows collect calls to be placed, so has lost his important contact with the media, his wife and his supporters. He also no longer has access to his computer, or to his Yahoo by phone email service. His only way of communicating now is with a rubber pencil, paper and the Pony Express.

In addition, his phone calls with his attorney are recorded and monitored and are made very difficult by the circumstances. As you will read in his latest Musings, he can't even have underpants. Even Al Qaeda terrorists in Guantanamo are allowed their turbans, but Rodney Yoder can't wear a pair of underwear. That's right, he might assault a guard with a skid mark, which is likely a Class X felony in Randolph County.

Rodney is allowed out of his cell only with the "rule of three," which means they have three guards at all times following him around. And they film every move he makes with a video camera when he exits his cell.

Rodney could use some old fashioned snail mail right now, but be warned that everything will be read by officials and their boys. So if you say something of a sexual nature, know that somewhere in Chester, Illinois, a big doofus is going to leave a stain. You've been warned.

Now that Rodney can't use a payphone, his weekly column will sent in longhand via snail mail and typed up for his website.

This week, Rodney makes his porn debut in "The Last Spore," which shouldn't be confused with Stephen Reid's "The Last Score," from the April issue of Playboy.
