bulletFor those of you who would like spiritual support and fellowship, check out "Praying Hearts Sanctuary." They send out a newsletter that you can sign up for or visit their bulletin board, they have a prayer team. They too are working through mental health disorders. 
bullet Mind Aid, a non-profit organization founded for the purpose of promoting the concept of no-force alternative intervention for those in acutely stressful traumatic situations exacerbated by nutritional deficiencies, environmental threats, and spiritual crisis.
bulletGift From Within is releasing a new video: Recovering From Traumatic Events: The Healing Process.  They are a nonprofit organization dedicated to those who suffer post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), those at risk for PTSD, and those who care for traumatized individuals.
bulletThe National Mental Health Awareness Campaign is a new organization dedicated to attacking the fear and shame that is very strongly associated with mental illnesses in America.
bulletVolunteers in Psychotherapy - A community nonprofit organization in Connecticut that provides truly private psychotherapy for no fee (or a low fee).
bullet A Santa Cruz County Mental Health Transition Team has been founded to support clients aged 18-25 years old.
bullet Compeer in Santa Cruz is launching an exciting “Friends of Compeer “ program that will feature activities for people who wish to volunteer at Compeer in a role other than or in addition to the traditional Compeer volunteer role of being matched with a friend who is in mental health treatment.
bulletSTAY INFORMED WITH THE SCHIZOPHRENIA WELLNESS CENTER, a collection of the latest medical news, journal articles, summaries from major medical conferences and information on schizophrenia.
bullet Compeer for Kids program is underway and Compeer Friendship Week lunch. (April 18, 2001) Compeer for Kids - The Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County has awarded a grant of $3,000 for a new Compeer For Kids program that will start in 2001.
bullet Minutes of the S.F. Bay Area Regional NAMI Meeting - April 28, 2001 - This meeting discusses the Fall Regional NAMI Conference, setting up an exchange program with Japan, and an legislative update.
bullet Minutes of the S.F. Bay Area Regional NAMI Meeting - March 24, 2001 - This meeting discusses Santa Clara's TV Mental Health Outreach program, NAMI California developments and current legislative issues.  Hanna Fairchild, the new NAMI Santa Cruz County President, provides her perspective on the meeting.  Note: we need a legislative advocate, click here if interested.
