Subject: [drugawareness] Alternatives to help after Antidepressants

For several years now many of you have asked me repeatedly to post on our site the information necessary to know how to find alternative treatments to help after being on antidepressants. I have spent years looking for various natural non-toxic answers to rebuild health after damage caused by these drugs. I am sorry it has taken so long to get to this, but there are just far too many of these tragedies that take so much of my time. I do want you to know that I am working on this and will get it posted in the next couple of months.

For now though, I want to give you the information on one of these therapies because the policy of the company is about to change making it more difficult for you to order their products at wholesale prices.

I wanted you to be aware of the fact that if you sign up with this company before the end of this month there is NO CHARGE to do so. There is also no requirement to order anything. But signing up now will "grandfather" you into the company so that down the road when you can afford the products and want to purchase something you will be able to purchase products without having to buy a large amount of product in order to get a discount.

You can follow the information in the book to do that or you can go to www.youngliving.com to do so using the member number 22048. It is often much easier to have someone walk you through this and answer questions. So, if you would rather have someone answer questions and help you with this feel free to call my good friend Diane (who I call for all of my questions on the oils) at 303-766-9760. She is in the Mountain Time zone so keep that in mind when calling. Anywhere from 10:00 AM to 7:00PM are generally good hours for catching her.

If you have read my book you know that I mention aromatherapy oils as a very effective treatment in rebuilding after using antidepressants. I explain my own reservations at first glance but go on to explain how my look at the scientific research on the oils helped me to see how they can be so very effective in rebuilding after the damage done by these antidepressants. There is much current research being done on the therapeutic effect of these oils and Dr. Gary Young has a PDR on the oils that is a wonderful help.

You will find in my book information on a woman who was diagnosed with brain damage after using Zoloft - small vessel breakage at the base of the brain - and within a short time of using Clarity and Joy and Valor the tests showed that the brain damage was gone. She states that now that the oils combination called Brain Power is available she would use that oil as well.

There are several of the oils I personally will not be without. I feel they are essential to the well being of my family and save us thousands in medical bills. I have witnessed miraculous results with these oils over the years. I am going to share some reports from others with you here:

Cancerous growths and tumors, including fibroids, are far too common with antidepressant use. I believe it is a good idea to use frankincense oil as a protection against that possibility after being on antidepressants. I have seen massive amounts of hard lumps under the arms disappear within weeks using frankensense oil. Here is one woman's experience with fibroid tumors:

FIBROIDS -- TESTIMONY

I have a testimonial for frankincense oil and shrinking fibroids.

Young Living’s essential oils are what saved my life -- specifically the use of frankincense oil applied topically to my abdomen and upper thighs.

The frankincense will work beautifully to shrink the mass(es), regardless of their origin. I mixed 2 parts frankincense oil with 1 part V-6 Mixing Oil and applied morning and night.

A person with fibroids should also consider the Young Living supplements and, of course, the Prenolone cream.

In a six-week period, my mass shrunk from 14 cm to 4.6, all with the use of Prenolone and the daily application of frankincense, as well as daily soaks in aromatherapy baths.

I have found that balancing one's blood sugar is one of the most difficult things to do after being on antidepressants.

If you have a copy of my tape you know that I mention that eating at least six raw almonds every hour to two hours has been reported to really help to balance out sugar levels.

There are also several products from Young Living that help with blood sugar levels. One of those is listed below - Power Meal developed for Young Living by actor Steven Seagal. Below is one woman's experience:

Power Meal and Low Blood Sugar

I just started using the Young Living's Power Meal to replace my evening meal, which is usually a light one.

I have hypoglycemia, and the first day after I received it, I had a hectic schedule and hadn't eaten properly for several hours. I was starting to shake and was feeling really queasy.

I had to run out the door, and had no time to fix myself anything. I grabbed the Power Meal and mixed one scoop (I am very small so I usually halve the recipes) with water and drank it down. About half a minute later my body stopped shaking and I was no longer sick to my stomach, and able to carry on for many hours.

Now I have a big Power Meal shake first thing in the morning as well as once during the day. As long as I do this, my blood sugar problem is pretty much a thing of the past.

To say the least, I am really excited!

Bipolar disorder is caused more by antidepressants than anything else on the planet. Blood sugar imbalance is a major component in bipolar. Below is a list of oils that helped one family with bipolar disorder:

Idaho Balsam Fir has been a HUGE help in our family. I have 2 children who are Bipolar... as am I. My kids and I were on such things as Prozac, Topamax among others. After learning about YL a year ago this month... We came off the drugs and we stated using oils instead.

Idaho Balsam Fir along with several other oils like, Valor, Joy, Harmony, White Angelica, Cedarwood, Peace and Calming.. have done wonders for us. We also use Sandalwood, Lavender, Frankincense. There are many more, but the one that did the most ... the top one still on the list is Idaho Balsam Fir.

It takes a while, be patient. We did not just stop taking the medications.. we started with the oils first and did them for a couple of months. Then we slowly stepped off the medication. I could tell NO difference. You have to be consistent.. every day. But from our stand point.... we would not be caught DEAD without it. I hope this helps.

Ellie.

Serotonin's main function is constriction of smooth muscle tissue producing a constriction of the bronchial tubes leading to many various lung problems including bronchial congestion, asthma, pneumonia, etc.

ASTHMA TESTIMONIES

For a quick review on how I have used Young Living’s oils and supplements to control my asthma, I used the Cleansing Trio several times over the last year. It’s very important to keep your insides clean.

I used most of the oils recommended for asthma in the Essential Oils Desk Reference – a wonderful book!

Raven, frankincense and melaleuca ericifolia all helped to some degree, but the oil blend I now have at all times for the slightest sign of a cold or allergy or wheeze -- is R.C. I diffuse it, put it on the soles of my feet, and my chest. Not long afterward, I am fine again.

I do best if I don't eat dairy and wheat products. Hope this is of help to you.

Our son, Matthew, has asthma. It only acts up when he gets a fever or cold, and we usually have to take him to the doctor or emergency room. To make a long story short, Matthew started running a fever a couple of weeks ago and sure enough, his asthma was kicking in. I was introduced to Young Living, got some essential oils, and one morning we were ready to take him to the doctor, when I said, "Let me try this lavender oil."

As God is my judge, within a matter of seconds applying the oil to his feet, his breathing smoothed out and the little fellow fell into a restful sleep. We were in total amazement. All we could do was look at one another and say, “Unbelievable!” We now put lavender on his feet every day and all is well.

For our daughter who has asthma, we use the following:

Harmony on the base of the throat at the collarbone.
Release on her belly (she LOVES Release!).
When she's wheezy, Peppermint deeply inhaled through the mouth. She keeps a bottle in her desk at school.

We also diffuse Raven and R.C. while she's in the shower with nice steamy water. We put R.C. on her feet. The earlier we catch the wheeze and start the oils, the better. Asthma symptoms are best nipped in the bud. Staying calm, and having the asthma person stay calm is really important.

Hope this helps,
Mary Lou

Regarding my asthma, I was using four inhalers, two oral medications and steroids with every infection until the summer of 1999. It was then that I started with Young Living’s Essential 7 Kit oils.

By the end of four weeks, I was off all inhalers. I then purchased the ImmuPower oil blend to rebuild my immune system. I quickly learned that it relieved an asthma attack in less than two minutes. Harmony also works, but is not as strong as Immupower.

Young Living's Sulfurzyme is a great preventative. If you haven't tried this, do everything you can to learn about it and begin taking it. I rarely have an attack anymore.

Eyesight is also adversely affected by these drugs in several ways. Below is one man's experience:

Michael S. Lewis writes:

It is my pleasure to give my testimony. At birth there were complications which had led to blindness in both eyes, P.R. & M.D. in the right eye.

When I heard about the Young Living Essential Oils, I was willing to try anything. I started using Frankincense by rubbing it on my upper eye lids and back of my neck. What enhanced it even more is that I laid down and used a hot pack for 15 minutes after each application.

It has been a miracle for me. In less than a week, I started seeing light and color. It was six weeks later that I was able to get my daytime driver's license back. And to make even better I had help finding a part time job.

I want to give a big THANKS! to Young Living!

Michael S. Lewis

Arthritis pains are a common side effect of the antidepressants so I thought you would like to read Dr. David Stewart's experience. Dr. Stewart has a wonderful new book out called, "Healing Oils of the Bible" that I highly recommend also.

Wounded Knee / Healed Knee
No Knee Replacement Needed!

Back in the mid-1960’s, I twisted my right knee badly in an accident. It hurt for ten years. I didn't think it would ever heal, but it eventually did. Then I reached my early 60’s and it started to hurt again, only this time it was worse.

Doctors told me it was arthritis developing in an old wound. I couldn't walk without a limp and had a hard time sleeping at night for the pain. I was getting up using hot packs for relief, but eventually discovered that cold packs were better.

That was about two or three years ago. I went to a chiropractor friend who recommended glucosamine, chondriiton and bromalene. Glucosamine is cartilage from crustacean shells, condroiton is cartilage from beef bones, and bromalene is a pineapple extract. The glucosamine and chondriton are supposed to help rebuild your worn cartilage (or osteoarthritis, as my condition was termed). The bromalene is a pain reliever for joints.

I eventually found that I got the most relief with just the glucosamine with a few drops of frankincense added. Upon this discovery, I stopped taking the bromalene and chondriten, inasmuch as they offered no additional improvement.

But I still couldn't run, jump or even walk strenuously. To that point, only the perpetual aching had gone away. The knee was still sore and hurt when I jumped or walked too fast. My chiropractor said I would eventually need a knee replacement and that I should stop walking for exercise.

I refused to accept this. About a year ago, I decided to see what the oils would do. I used Cypress, Wintergreen and PanAway. I took 1-2 drops of each in my palm, gave it several clockwise circles, rubbed all over my right knee, and then did VitaFlex from just above the knee cap to just below it -- several times with each application. I had intended to do this every day, but missed some days. There was some immediate relief, but not a lot. I just kept putting the oils on.

My wife and I have been doing the YLEO Lifestyle Transformation program (we are both 63). As part of the program, I had simply been walking around the track, unable to run or jump. After using the oils on my knees for 3-4months, I noticed that I could run some if I was careful. However, if I ran too much, I would pay for it with knee pain and swelling for the next week or two.

Then about a month ago, it happened! Suddenly I noticed that I could run and there was no pain at all and I could keep running for the better part of whole mile. I can now do a mile in less than 10 minutes, about 1/3 walking briskly and 2/3 jogging, with no soreness, swelling or pain in my knee. I can also do jumping jacks now without pain. It is amazing!

My goal now is to work up to running a mile in 8 minutes or less, which is a goal I could not have even thought about three months ago! Thanks to the oils, it is now within my grasp.

No knee replacements for me!
