Santa Cruz Family Partnership Program Needs Your Support

The Family Partnership Program provides respite care, education, advocacy and support for parents/family members with children in the Santa Cruz County Children’s Mental Health system.

This program has provided essential services in Spanish and English in the North and the South County. It is staffed by parents who have had a child in the system and have real experience working with the county and other agencies. Our mission is to advocate for families every step of the way.

The Children's Mental Health Department which manages the program is facing hefty budget cuts in the next fiscal year beginning in July, 2002. That's why we need your support and input.

The Family Partnership is a contractor and contracted programs are expected to take the deepest cuts.

We are having a special Advisory County meeting on 6/6/02, 6-7:30 PM at Community Bridges in Aptos. Dinner and refreshments will be served.

The meeting will provide critical feed back to Children's Mental Health about the need for family centered participation in the mental health program in Santa Cruz County.

You are cordially invited to attend this meeting and provide your feed on our services. Even if you have never had a child in CMH, I know you support quality mental health services that involve families.

Please come and support us. The future of family advocacy in Children's Mental Health, as well as the juvenile justice system and special education, is dependant on allies such as you and NAMI.

Thanks you so much! Please call me or Kim Powell if you have questions at 831-458-1923.

Sharon
