Latino Behavioral Health Conference

To All,

Please contact Judy Williams (688-3385) with names, phone numbers, etc. of anyone interested in going to this event. Our the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill Board of Santa Cruz County will support this project 100%. It is very worthwhile and educational. Since our county is 60% Latino, it is our duty to send several Spanish speaking people who are willing to carry the ball forward.. Is anyone interested?

Latino Behavioral Health Conference - NAMI Latino Leadership Opportunity

This year, NAMI is pleased to co-sponsor the Ninth Annual Latino Behavioral Health Institute Conference, "Promoting Effective Behavioral Health Care for Latinos", September 23 - 25, 2003 at the Universal City Hilton and Towers, Universal City, California. LBHI is dedicated to eliminating discrimination against Latinos in need of behavioral health services, human services or health care.

NAMI will have a Latino Leadership Meeting during this event. The NAMI sessions will be in Spanish language. This prestigious conference is an ideal venue to bring NAMI Latino leaders together and to strengthen and promote their leadership roles. We invite NAMI Latino leaders to participate on this event. NAMI National will cover the $175 registration fee for all members supported by their state office or affiliate. This is a great opportunity for states and affiliates to identify their Latino leaders and get them more involved!

For more information about the conference and the NAMI sessions contact Majose Carrasco at majose@nami.org or 703-312-7883.
