MINUTES OF THE NAMI SANTA CRUZ COUNTY BOARD MEETING 3/7/03


In Attendance: Don Hilbert, Desiree Douville, Judy Williams, Sharon
Cohen-Barry, Patrice Sovyak


ANNOUNCEMENTS:

l. Rebecca Woolis will make her presentation to the County workers on
4/25 at Simpkins.
2. Judy continues work with Bonnie Schell at MHCAN on physical health
issues.
3. MHRC speaker series on causes of death.
4. Sharon will present an education series at MHCAN.
5. MHRC will make a series of 5 presentations at Soquel High health
classes.
6. Susan Canon will be a legislative advocate for the Board.
7. Bonnie has spent our $500.00 contribution.
8. Peer to Peer is still in process of organization.
9. The Local Mental Health Board is seeking NAMI members.


MOTIONS CARRIED:

1. Minutes Accepted


REPORTS

1. Family to Family: 1. Twelve names so far signed up. 2. Spanish
version training is available (Rebecca Fuhrman: 714-544-8488). 3. Judy
and Louise will meet to plan class strategy.
2. Housing funding: Julie Conway sent a copy of proposed contract from
Front Street. Charge of 15%. Judy will contact property manager and
Desi will consult Julie.


ADDITIONAL ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN:

1. Desiree will contact Dan Weisburd
2. Sharon will supply Desiree speaker series dates for the newsletter.
3. Don: Does Library have When Someone?
4. Desiree: Investigate the DD luncheon for a NAMI model.
5. Sharon: Send Desiree the MHRC logo.
6. Don : Secure mtg place for 4/14 at 4:30.
7. Don: E-mail speaker dates to Desiree for Dan Weisburd/
8. Patrice: E-mail Desiree re consultation with Robert and Richard re.
