Judy Williams Honored

Monday, Nov. 22, 2004:

Judy Williams, local NAMI board member and tireless mental health advocate was honored today as a 2004 Santa Cruz County Community Hero.    Judy has been a board member for the last 3 years and also serves on the County Mental Health board.  Several years ago, she researched the Crisis Intervention Training program and brought it to the local Santa Cruz law enforcement.  This program has made a major change, and our publication of CIT material and information on this website, has brought additional queries from across the country.  Judy has responded to all of these with much additional information and training material.

We are glad to see Judy recognized for these efforts by Dominican Hospital and the County of Santa Cruz in today's special Santa Cruz County Year 10 report.
