Latino Leadership Symposium

Reaching out to the Latino Community; Building Communities of Hope

There are many barriers to receiving quality mental health treatment and support for members of the Latino community. NAMI is committed to change this by developing strategies and initiatives that work to improve the quality of life for Latino consumers and their families. One of our major initiatives to achieve this goal is the Latino Leadership Symposium.

GOAL: To promote and support NAMI's Latino Outreach initiatives; to provide networking opportunities and information sharing; to enhance communication between NAMI state offices and NAMI affiliates, to create culturally competent approaches to reach the Latino Community.

WHO: Leaders from each State-Recommended: NAMI State Offices and and interested NAMI Affiliates. NAMI Latino members who are interested in taking a leadership role in NAMI's outreach efforts. Leaders from the Latino community.

WHERE: Millennium Hotel, Cincinnati, Ohio 141 West Sixth St.

WHEN: June 25, 2002 (Day before the Annual National Convention Starts)
