New Friends of Compeer Program

The Compeer Board of Directors is launching an exciting “Friends of Compeer “ program that will feature activities for people who wish to volunteer at Compeer in a role other than or in addition to the traditional Compeer volunteer role of being matched with a friend who is in mental health treatment. Carrie Hanson is heading up this new project.

Here are some of the ways Friends of Compeer can help:

bulletPlan parties and other events
bulletPlan and/or help run fundraising events
bulletHelp with office tasks
bulletParticipate in “Friends For a Day” events
bulletDonate money, products or services

The Board would like the Friends of Compeer program to be as valuable as possible for our volunteers. Some of the benefits of becoming a Friend are:

bulletMake new friends
bulletContribute your talents and skills
bulletGain skills and knowledge
bulletGet free admission to Compeer special events, such as our annual concert
bulletBe associated with a quality, cost-effective program
bulletFeel good about making a difference in people’s lives

Friends will have flexibility in terms of the days and times they work, how often they work and the activities in which they participate. They will also play a role in deciding upon and shaping the events and activities that happen at Compeer. For more information, call the Compeer office (459-6817) or e-mail Carrie Hanson at chanson@interfaithcompeer.org.
