Ending the Silence for Students - Story Portion

Meet Anastasia, a 26-year-old UCSC graduate who loves Disney, music, and yoga. Join her on her journey with suicidal ideation, hospitalization, panic attacks, Bipolar Disorder, and depression.
Hear from Jasmeen, a 32-year-old who is newly hooked on Big Bang Theory and Breath of the Wild! Take a peek into her cringe-worthy moments, examples of her mood dysregulation and its sometimes devastating consequences, suicidal ideation, and hospitalizations. Learn about her multiple diagnoses and her quest to find purpose and meaning. While it can be quite heavy, she weaves in humor and a positive outlook.
Say hello to Tim, a 28-year old Santa Cruz local who loves his dog and his two favorite TV shows: Rick & Morty and South Park. Join him as he talks about his journey with Schizoaffective disorder, and how finding the right treatment has allowed him to return to his passion for music.
Meet Hannah, a 29-year old UCSC student studying Art and Russian. Join her on her journey with mental health challenges, including substance use and depression, and how somatic therapy and lifestyle changes have made a difference.
Meet Katie, a 21-year old who is passionate about art, nature, and finding a new way of life after struggling with PANS (Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome), and the disease of addiction.
Hi, my name is Jen! I'm a Harry Potter fanatic and I have a love for Boba Tea (if you know what that is, you’re awesome like me)! I'm studying American Sign Language in college, and I'm a mental health advocate and speaker with NAMI Santa Cruz. I have Bipolar 1 Disorder with psychosis, I have auditory, & visual hallucinations and hear voices, and deal with mania and depression. I also have PTSD and Borderline Personality Disorder. NAMI Santa Cruz, good medications, DBT therapy & friends and family have helped me live a full life! If I can, you can too!
