The Access Team is available 24 hours a day for Santa Cruz County residents to assess for hospitalization in a psychiatric crisis. As of May 2016, children can now receive crisis assessment at the walk-in clinic. Located in the same building but on the ground floor.

Santa Cruz County Mental Health Pocket Guide

The NEW Santa Cruz County Mental Health Pocket Guide is a brochure of local resources for community members who may be experiencing mental health crises or challenges. The guide was produced in collaboration between Santa Cruz Behavioral Health and Applied Crisis Training and Consulting.

Encompass Community Services
This is the largest non-profit agency in the County. Some of the programs are open to all income levels. Here are links to the mental health services:  

Youth Services counseling is personalized to meet the individual needs of youth and to enhance the strengths and assets of each family. They provide individual, group and family counseling for youth and families facing the challenges that arise in the process of growing up.

Adult Residential (Casa Pacific, El Dorado Center and Telos)
Community Support Services (CSS) operates three residential treatment programs. All of the programs embody the mission of Community Support Services and promote a vision of wellness and recovery, yet  each program has its unique treatment focus. All referrals to the residential programs are made by County Mental Health.

Second Story is a six-bed adult house which serves as a respite and a voluntary opportunity for individuals to learn to use relationships to move out of old roles and patterns.

Front St., Inc
Front St. Inc., a Behavioral Health Agency, that offers quality residential programs and mental health treatment services to adults. These services include:

Community Connection
Community Connection is a nonprofit mental health program of the Santa Cruz Volunteer Center that serves adults and families referred through the Santa Cruz County Mental Health System of Care. Their mission is "to assist and support adults with psychiatric disabilities and their families in achieving greater independence and improving the quality of their lives."  They believe that each person that walks through our doors has a gift. Their job is to support them in discovering those gifts and reaching their full potential. Participants have access to a variety of person-centered, strength based programs that provide pre-employment,employment, education, community integration and peer support services for individuals and families.

Family Service Agency of the Central Coast
Family Service Agency of the Central Coast believes in the power and potential of people of all ages and backgrounds to discover their own creative solutions. Provide the resources, support, and counseling services essential to healthy families and communities. Since 1957 they have been providing counseling, suicide prevention, and supportive services to those in Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties.

In this weekly support group, people identify their own goals - whether that be struggles with mental health, substance use, trauma, etc. Groups are focused on peer-support and community, as well as suggestions or accountability when requested.

Wellness Connect

Free prevention, early intervention, treatment and recovery services for adults with mental health conditions. Includes specific programs for TAY (Transition Age Youth, 18-26) and individuals experiencing first episode psychosis. Program includes:
